Urban Rec Western Sydney Social Sports was founded in 2023, with the vision to change the way Australians play sport. We make sports more enjoyable, accessible, and inclusive for everyone. Our passion lies in delivering professionally organised leagues that foster camaraderie, laughter, and an active lifestyle through team sports.

Our leagues boast thousands of players who participate every week across Western Sydney, embracing the spirit of friendship, fairness, and a hunger for competition. With a variety of sports and locations to choose from, embark on a 10-week journey that goes above and beyond your expectations.

Basketball

Our Basketball leagues  are typically played on outdoor courts (but sometimes indoor). Featuring significantly less formal structure and limitating enforcement of the game's rules, it’s where legends are made, laughs are had, and losers don’t exist. This co-ed sport is 5-aside with a minimum of 2 male and 2 female players on the court.  We play on standard sized basketball courts.

Multisport

Learn More

Each week you play with the same team, but try your hand at a different sport. Some of your players will be experts, and others will be complete newbs. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to test your diverse sports skills. This co-ed sport is 5 aside, with a minimum of 2 male and female players on the court. The sports we play are generally a mix of Soccer, Dodgeball, Hockey, Handball, Touch, Basketball, Flag Gridiron, AFL, Oz-tag, Volleyball and Netball. Depending on the location, sports will be allocated as suited to the venues.

Netball

Our Netball leagues are different to club level leagues. They are genuinely recreational, meaning you can expect a more relaxed environment. We offer 7’s Netball, or Fast5 Netball. Fast5 Netball is a super fun, fast workout, with only 5 players on the court. Our 7’s leagues offer some non-traditional rule adaptions. These leagues have a maximum number of male players, but no minimum, meaning all women teams are welcome to play in our co-ed leagues.

Urban Rec’s soccer leagues vary in rules and conditions depending on our venues, so simply choose a venue that suits you. Some  leagues are played on marked outdoor tennis courts, and some are played outdoor on grass pitches. All our soccer leagues are mixed and 5 a-side (including goalie), with a minimum of 2 male and 2 female players on the pitch.

WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? This is great for the Basketball start-up. A non-competitive comp, which is good for beginners. It’s fast, and it’s physical. It’s all the fun of Basketball, none of the pressure.  If you don’t know the basics, our staff are there to coach you.

Multisport

WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? If you are majorly indecisive, or completely confused about which sport is for you, then this is a great option for you. We know that not all people will have played every sport before, so we teach you the basics each week. If you love diversity, then multsisport ifs your friend.

Basketball players will love the option to shoot 3 pointers, and everyone will love the amazing workout, from the HIIT style fitness.

WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? This is great for the Soccer all-rounder. Because of the sizes of the pitch, you tend to play all the positions, making it a comprehensive game style. It’s the world’s game. But don’t be intimidated, our leagues are fun first so it’s OK if you are not an everyday Ronaldo.
